Mike's Version

It was a cold October evening and i was going to Risky (student event at Church) I walked in a grabbed a slice of pizza and a beer (one week only special) and started chatting to people about stuff. I ended up chatting to the only 2 Oxford students there (it was only Brookes term but not Oxford) about formula one, it was just after Michael Schumacher retired and someone there literally jumped up and down for joy. She was a girl from the north, very welcoming and would chat to anyone about anything. In fact didn't really stop talking, ever........ and so it began. I then explained to her that i suffer that my accent wanders slightly when talking to people. She thought i was mocking her but it is just the way i am.

Claire's Version

October 2007, the new (Brookes) people turn up at Risky Living (the St Aldates student service on a Thursday night). Somehow Mike, after collecting beer and a pizza, ended up sitting next to me discussing the retirement of Michael Schumacher with James and Ramin. I thought he had nice eyes!
